Hawai Chappal

"Why have you come to mess for eating in bathroom chappal."- asked a Army personnel serving food in mess in NCC camp at Kalaikunda Airbase. I was mesmerized to listen this term and categorization of chappal. It is also reflecting the disconnect between Army personnel mindset and the level of fellow citizen to whom they are employed for protection.

Tyranny of Democracy

When I started coming in contact with groups in college, I seldom realized that they were affiliated to some ideas, some political inclination and they were in process of developing a community whose members are engaged so well that they almost become immune from other ideas, thoughts and develop ones own personality.

Indians burns effigy of an arrogant Brahmin (Rawan) every year

When a scholar becomes arrogant, he becomes to dangerous for the society as he has immense potential to impedes harms to the society. This tradition of burning of effigy of Rawan, not only depicts the victory of good over evil, but gives a good lesson to Brahmins (in today's era all scholars irrespective of caste) for not becoming arrogant.

Recently in a group I found someone posting that if a non-Brahmin becomes Sant, he ended like Asharam, Ram Rahim, Rampal, Swamy Nithyananda etc. This is really an arrogant and irresponsible statement and could be signifies as spreading caste hatred. Anyway they are getting stern reply from people specially people belonging to Dalit community who take such thing as head on although these people don't belong to Untouchables or Dalits.

Under the era of Rawan, kingdoms of North India or specially kings have no problem as depicted by the happy state of Ayodhya and their non-interference with the acts of Ravan. After all these kingdoms were also guided by Brahmins and they were under the influence of Brahmins.

Vishwamitra, a non-Brahmin Rishi, took the things head on and became Guru of Rama, a rebel by nature. Vishwamitra had great influence on local people.

People are enumerating a list of Brahmin Gurus with dark side and questions why only Ravan is being burnt. The demise of Ravan has really weakened Brahmin Supremacy in Indian Society, though it came back in other form by making Ram as God and at the same time advised for Ashvedh Yagya to come out from the sin of killing a Brahmin.

Even Vishwamitra (earlier) was under the spell of existing system who tried all efforts for stopping him becoming Rishi.

In the modern era, Buddha and Mahavira were also from ruling clan.

These days some people, under the influence of some community for religious conversion, consider Ravan as their ancestors and tried to burn effigy of Ram instead of Ravan. But the conscious Hindu community led by Brahmins becomes instrumental in killing such deviation (not good for Indian society and its belief system.)

Loyal Members

Great leaders love to work with leaders. As they are working on ideas, they seldom care who are following or who not. Though they work on ideas, they seldom hinders the flows of ideas from his fellow leaders/companions and give free hand to play.

Before I register Navodaya Mission, I have been holding key posts of many organizations working in the field of education and I did justice with all of them. But after registering this body, it took time for all to believe on me that I was still advocating for them in the same spirit. Navodaya Mission was just an identity for our volunteering work being carried by our friends since the beginning. In fact when we saw no immediate future in social arena due to lack of support, resources and transfer of some of our key partners/friends, we thought to register this body just for the sake of our togetherness and a token of certificate that we founded something together and with the wishes that in future if we get chance we will once again unite and will carry our social cause together.

But this process brought new energy and new people in the organization and support from friends who are sitting in far of areas. Our three Indra (Jitendra, Yogendra and Raghavendra) are doing wonderful job. All the volunteers are now owner of Navodaya Mission.

When someone is telling the members of a particular group is not going to attend in this meeting, that is not fare, specially when the case is for Alumni. Such kind of outlook is a religious outlook. When the motto of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is national integrity, how any alumni group of a particular school would stop the alliance of alumni of different schools. It is always difficult to keep even students of one class together, how we could think so at school level. All should be given free hand to act. All have right to get befriended with the students, associations of all over of India. Can you stop outside alumni network to get associated with Navodayans? Simple No. After all we are being funded by society, how can we keep members of broader society out of our arena, thought.

Let all groom in his own way. If you can't support something, please do not hinder.

Afterall everyone has his own limitations and his own sphere of influence.

Really this requires churning of ideas.

I seldom ask for help to whom I have extended help. I would not like to put someone in dilemma. Even I would not expect our students to join my mission, but to choose organization of their own choice or if passionate form his own organization. God has given enough followers/companions for every leader, if passionate and ready to sacrifice to fulfill and materialize his ideas.

Should one have to change his God

These days I have discussion with father of my colleague who happens a renowned personality in Lucknow for his works for spread of Urdu literature. Defying his age he is always on the run for advocating reservation policy, motivating lower caste people for worshiping Lord Buddha. At the time of Eid he started sharing merits of Muslim religion and highlighted that every prosperous Muslim has share a fixed part of his income for the welfare of poor people. "Brahmins are always taking some gifts from people on every festivals, while Muslims are supposed to Give to the poor." He emphasized this fact, but he lowered his voice when he shared that Muslims are supposed to share with other poor Muslims only.

One should have clarity in mind that service to religion and service to society has different meaning. Donating something for the cause of religion should be referred as religious offer or service to religion and not to service to society. If one can not save the independence of thought, choice of worshiping God, then what is the meaning of getting things for mere betterment of our physical existence.

Sharing things with family members is never equated with social work, though one is expected to share things with your family and relatives. Sharing things with religious/sect/caste etc fellows should be taken in the same spirit and should be taken in the same spirit. This should be avoided to be equated with Social Service.

Social service should be done with independent mind without discriminating the needy on the basis of religion/caste/sect/country etc.

Some years back, one of my friend who is an civil servant asked me should he give blood to a Pakistani or not in some hospital in New Delhi. Without giving next thought I suggested him to donate blood to him. Then he told that these Pakistani would kill us. I told this is the time of tasting our humanity, our ethos of brotherhood and we should be guided by that action only. In the war we will not hesitate to bleed for the sake of safety of our Nation. He happily donated blood to him. At that I also reached on the spot and have a long communication with his colleague (Pakistani) who was just like another fellow. Our conversation needs another post. Anyway he also invited us to visit Pakistan and assured our safety that what is being shown in media is not the reality on the ground.

So promote social service, that is the greatest virtue and that is the real service to God.

Muslim appeasement Vs Brahmin Appeasement

Gandhiji is being vehemently blamed for starting Muslim appeasement and in the way harmed Hindu society in one or other way. Is there something the concept of Brahmin appeasement? Does caste play great role even during freedom struggle? After all many must have eyed who will grab power post freedom movement. It was certain that Gandhiji was not going to rule the country as he had not developed himself in that way. He was no different from earlier God Father of the country in consonance of Brahmnical way of ruling the country as Kings were supposed to implement the ideas of Brahmins (Guru), otherwise they were abolished and new Kings were installed. Chanakya, Krishna, Guru Ram Das and so Gandhiji followed the same suit.

We have been taught that Nehru was called Panditji because he was a great scholar. But it is proven that Rajendra Prasadji, Dr. Ambedkar were even greater scholars of those time and yet they were not designated as Panditji. If we see this in rude way, then we find that saying some (Brahmins) as Panditji, he immediate falls into your way. This is the way how some Brahmins used to gain favour of other Brahmins by calling them Panditji. Even in my company (a PSU) I have found one senior employee addressing all the Brahmin employees by Panditji. The same practice is being followed by trainers who occasionally come to train employees here. Based on this idea, it may be concluded that Panditji behind Nehru is not given for his scholarship but appeasing Brahmins and for his acceptance in the society at grass root level, after all masses of India are being opinionated by Brahmins only. In that way Gandhiji’s leadership would remain protected from Brahmin hegemony.

Patelji was not made the PM. Had his caste some role for such deviation? That may be explored.

Khilaphat Andolan has been chosen meticulously by Gandhiji for appealing Muslim masses. Tilakji had already  done the same by organizing worshipping Ganesh and Shivaji for appealing Hindu masses. For keeping Muslim league on the bay, Khilaphat movement must have played great role. For making freedom struggle successful, unity of India was important need of the hour.

Anyway deeper thoughts will come out from students of History, this is my view seeing the nature of contemporary politics and society.

But I believe Gandhiji has helped in making thousands of volunteers who sacrificed their life for the upliftment of downtrodden society of India. He meticulously divided politics and social/spiritual arena.
